Needless to say I shall carry on.
Th ank you again."
In July 2007 Accolade Publishing
ran our first event for the comping community. Over 300 dedicated UK compers attended the day which was held at Pride Park Stadium, home of Derby County Football Club.
Local press, radio and TV all covered the fun-packed day which included games, bingo, a charity raffle and of course plenty of competitions. The raffle raised a staggering £3,237 for the Rainbows Children’s Hospice. We also ran a small survey on the day asking each guest to estimate the total value of all their competition wins... this added up to a cool £9,616,166! Who says comping doesn’t pay??
Valerie Sheehan of Bremhill has won a massive £10,000 in a prize draw run by Accolade Publishing. This big win is nothing new for Valerie who is a regular comper and typically enters between 70 and 100 competitions a month. Valerie says, “I tend to enter competitions in local papers and other magazines. I like to win tickets to events I’d never go to otherwise. I’ve won everything from tickets to Crufts to tickets to a Bryan Adams concert.
Valerie’s big cash win came after entering a competition in Prize Draw Winner. “You never know when the next big competition is going to pop up and subscribing to Prize Draw Winner means I don’t miss a trick. It also means that I don’t have to spend a fortune on lots of different magazines and trawl through them for the competitions.”
Dawn Harris of Truro won a massive £5,000 windfall in a competition run by Competitor’s Companion. After a difficult year battling treatment against cancer, Dawn was convinced her luck has changed in 2008 with her first ever competition win - a massive £5,000.
“I’ve never won a competition before in my life. But whilst I was in hospital, I had hours to kill and picked up a copy of Competitor’s Companion magazine I found on the ward."
“When the publisher phoned me up to tell me I’d won, I didn’t believe him and thought is was a prank being played on me by one of the family! He convinced me in the end that he was genuine though!”
ThePrizeFinder.com has won an award in the Web User magazine 2008 annual awards. The authoritative voice within the internet industry has again recognized our competition site to be one of the best.
“The Prize Finder organises competitions by prize as well as closing date, so you can home in on those that offer a particular reward. For a small annual fee you can access the ThePrizeFinderPlus service, which lets you enter postcard competitions quickly and easily by printing the details onto entry forms created by the site and then tracking all your entries online. You can also interact with other competition hounds in the chat room and on the message board, and check out the links to helpful sites.
Verdict: an impressive choice of competitions, offering a range of great prizes, makes this site well worth checking out. Links to lesser-known competitions can help to increase your chances of a win.”
